Just landed is a re-vamped version of Liam Bailey's 'Awkward', the first track of his 2020 album Ekundayo. For the new version 'Awkward (Take 2)', Bailey teams up with Big Crown label mates El Michels Affair.  The new track invites a woozy beat painted with a dub-soaked brush. Vocals and percussion echo in Upsetters-style effects that warp and delay both the instruments and vocal. But don't get this twisted, it's far from a straight-up dub track. We can hear El Michels Affair drums from a mile off, stained with sounds from the past. Bailey also uses pitch-shift on his vocals, something both Kanye West and Daft Punk frequently undertake. The track is also has strong trip-hop vibes with the resonating of the low-end bass. In short, it's a truly cutting-edge production that's unique in both it's influences and sound. 'Awkward (Take 2)' is taken from the forthcoming El Michels Affair meets Liam Baily album Ekundayo Inversions, due out on Big Crown Records August 13th. -Ellie Rose-Davies
